Midnight Embroidery Show FAQ

FAQ

What is The Midnight Embroidery Show?

The Midnight Embroidery Show by Planet Applique Inc. is a creative video series centered around machine embroidery, learning through process, and enjoying the act of making. The show invites viewers into a calm, storybook-inspired workshop. It’s designed to feel less like a class and more like sitting beside someone while they work, think, test, and create.

Is this a tutorial series?

Yes, however, while you’ll absolutely learn concepts, techniques, and ways of thinking about embroidery, the show isn’t focused only on step-by-step instructions. Instead, it ALSO emphasizes why decisions are made, how problems are solved, and how ideas evolve during the creative process in addition to traditional tutorials.

Who is the show for?

The Midnight Embroidery Show is for anyone who enjoys making whether you’re brand new to machine embroidery or have been stitching for years. If you:

-enjoy learning by watching and observing
-feel overwhelmed by fast or overly technical tutorials
like understanding the reasoning behind creative choices
-appreciate a calm, cozy creative atmosphere
…this show was made with you in mind.

Do I need to own an embroidery machine to enjoy the show?

No. While the focus is on machine embroidery, many viewers enjoy the show simply for inspiration, creative thinking, and the storytelling around making. You don’t need specific equipment, experience, or supplies to watch and enjoy the episodes.

Is The Midnight Embroidery Show separate from Planet Applique?

No. The Midnight Embroidery Show is part of Planet Applique.

The show is an extension of the same brand, values, and creative world that Planet Applique has built over the years. It’s simply a new way to share ideas, learning, and behind-the-scenes creativity. Nothing is being replaced or moved. The show and the shop exist together as part of the same creative space.

What makes this show different from other embroidery content?

The Midnight Embroidery Show is built around process, curiosity, and atmosphere. Episodes are designed to feel thoughtful and unhurried, with room for experimentation, mistakes, and discovery. It also blends world-building elements like a storybook aesthetic to create a creative experience that feels immersive and memorable.

What is the aesthetic of the show?

The show lives in a magical machine embroidery workshop inspired by storybookcore and cottagewhimsy. The episodes take place at night (literally), because this is when we actually create projects in our busy lives.

Who hosts the show?

The show is hosted by Becca, co-owner with her husband of Planet Applique.

Who is Pinny?

Pinny is a small, round pincushion with a big personality. She’s a nonverbal puppet created to bring a touch of whimsy into the studio. She reacts, observes, and quietly shares in the creative process, helping bring the world of the show to life in a magical way.

Why include a puppet?

Becca used to be a clown and worked with puppets, balloon animals, object lessons, and more. She wants to be true to herself, her style and get back in touch with that part of her past. It won't be easy, but it's important to be genuine.

When will episodes be released?
